Vintage

Rich, plush and swamped with black raspberry and dark plum sit over a scorched earth, vanillin oak and sweet pepper back drop. Velvet smooth tannins.

Fruit is from Sue Trotts vineyard located in the Blewit Springs sub region of McLaren Vale, at an elevation of 200m.

The deep sand soils contribute to the low yields and the intensity of the wine, giving it the unique Blewitt Springs character

  • Colour

Deep dark red black colour with a dark red hue.

  • Aroma

Pronounced aniseed and dark plum aromas engulf the nostrils followed by some black raspberry, vanillin cedar, earthy mocha and pepper notes.

  • Palate

Rich and plush the palate is swamped with aniseed, black raspberry and dark plum fruits which sit over a scorched earth, vanillin oak and sweet pepper. Velvet smooth tannins concluding long and lush.

Hand picked. 7 days on skins. 24 months of maturation in 1st-and 2nd-use French oak. Regional enough, be it the stamp of place or the traditional approach to making wine in these parts, I am unsure. Dark plum, Asian herb, baking spice, anise and spiky acidity. Rich, round and slickly made.
