Tasting Notes

  • Colour

    Dark red core with black toned edges and a red to dark red hue.

  • Aroma

    Aromas of freshly crushed raspberry juice, dark cherries and red liquorice are trailed by some fresh herb, earth and delicate vanillin cedar notes

  • Palate

    Vibrant palate features red raspberry and red liquorice fruits over earth, vanillin confectionary and peppered fresh herb characters. Slightly grainy tannins with bright acidity lending an energised feel. Finishes with lively red fruits and plenty of pepper.

    80/20%, the grenache from old bush vines, 10% whole bunch fermentation on skins 5 days, the shiraz on skins 7 days, matured for 9 months in used oak. Marvellous colour for grenache (even with some shiraz), the vines 80yo. the bouquet is complex and truffly, the palate surging with life and strength. This will be a wine to behold in 10 years, for its balance is perfect, and that is only the beginning.
